L4D3 - Dance Cardio the right way

Yesterday the gym in my building was PACKED. I’m so used to working out at off hours that I didn’t realize so many of my neighbors even worked out ;) I waited around for a few minutes until I realized that every single person on the treadmills had gotten on right before I arrived, so there was no reason to waste 30 minutes I could be working out by waiting for a machine.

Annoyed, I went back up to my apartment and turned on Meta DC. I hadn’t used my DC workout since L1D6. At the point I stopped, I had only enjoyed the workout once and I wasn’t feeling “light on my feet” - literally. While I could keep up with the moves, I didn’t find jumping from move to move that easy, and I couldn’t seem to really get any height; I felt more like I was bouncing with my feet on the ground. Treadmill Cardio Tracy-style was a lot more fun and skipping came much more easily to me. So yesterday, I was disappointed to have to do DC instead of my usual Treadmill.

I was wrong.

I couldn’t believe how far I’ve come in the past month! DC was so much FUN! And I was able to jump through the entire workout. I kept my heater on the whole time (as Tracy recommends), was sweating up a storm and out of breath. It was really invigorating and realizing that I was now light on my feet was so motivating!

My calves are killing me this morning, so I might opt for the treadmill today if I can. But, I’m psyched to actually enjoy DC and will probably work it into my weekly cardio more often (apologies to the apartment downstairs).
